Shooting on Location in Tampa
We kick things off with a visit to the beautiful city by the bay. In our first episode, we explore the streets of Tampa and capture the city skyline from several locations. Magic hour unfolds as we shoot sunset, blue hour and the night sky. Discover the beauty of this vibrant city through the lens as we start our journey with a little urban adventure.
Critical Thinking – Location Deep Dive
In this episode, we examine each of our cityscape locations in detail. A lot of thought goes into why we shoot the way we do. We discuss the fundamentals light, composition, timing and how everything comes together to make a great image.
Lightroom – Editing Your Cityscape
In this lesson we jump into Lightroom and start to bring our RAW images to life. We utilize the development module to edit our cityscape images into beautiful fine art photographs.
Lightroom – Editing the Sky
In this module we use Lightroom to edit a special series of images which capture the Tampa sky. The final images will be used as raw materials for sky replacement lesson at the end of the course.
Lightroom – Export Settings
In this short lesson we discuss the virtues of exporting our RAW images in 16 Bit color in order to generate perfectly smooth gradients for large format fine art images.
Photoshop – Automatic Panoramic
In this lesson we use Photoshop to automatically generate a panoramic image. This technique can save a lot of time, but it comes at a cost.
Photoshop – Hand Made Panoramic
Learn to hand-stitch your own panoramic images in Photoshop. We discuss the many reasons why this technique is vastly superior to the automatic method.
Photoshop – Finishing Touches
In this lesson, we lean into our creative editing techniques with Photoshop. Learn to sharpen your image like a pro, and paint with light to bring out amazing details in your cityscape.
Photoshop – Sky Replacement
In our final lesson, we learn a simple, yet highly refined technique for replacing the sky in your cityscape image. Learn to take full creative control of your photography and build the images of your dreams.
